How I got here
Since childhood, I've known I wanted to become a designer. I respect design works that are crafted with care and refinement toward perfection.
Later on I studied Graphic Design at one of Vietnam’s most competitive design schools, where education was rooted in Bauhaus fundamentals: form serving function, and every design element must have a purpose. This foundation has shaped my design principle and philosophy to this day. When I encountered UX in my final years of study, I recognized the same values. It offered the balance I was already searching for between form and function, emotion and rationality, brain and heart. And so I decided to follow that path.
I spent the next few years working in several local tech companies. Vietnam’s tech scene moves fast and is highly competitive, and I had the (rare) chance to work across different product types and company stages. These experiences gave me a deep understanding on how design actually works in practice — not just polished screens in Figma, but real products shaped by company’s constraints, conversations, trade-offs, and shared decisions.
During this time, I also got to meet and work with truly AMAZING people — designers, researchers, PMs, developers — teammates whom I have fought alongside, gone through challenges with, and learnt a big deal from ❤️! My most valuable learnings did not come from text book and courses, but from the work itself, and from the talented colleagues I was lucky to work with! They say 'your colleagues are not your friend', but I guess I'd have to disagree with that :).

What I'm seeking
July 2024, my husband and I moved to Tampere, Finland. We came initially for our Master’s studies, but also to see how life here would be like. And we've been loving it here so far (winter included 😎)! We now really want to see whether we can build something more rooted here — career, friendships, even a sense of home.
For short-term goals, this year I'm aiming to equip myself with more knowledge on the technical side of product development, particularly in programming basics. Writing is also a skill I wanna work more on.
I have also begun learning Finnish. I really hope I can soon hold a full conversation in Finnish with the sweetest cashier lady at the university restaurant, who intentionally speaks Finnish slowly, deliberately help me learn simple phrases, and always offers the warmest smile when she sees me 🥺.
